Poker Face (season 2)

{5/5} “Don’t worry ’cause I actually have conducted, like, a shocking number of these ad-hoc interrogations.”

Poker Face season 2, aired in 2025

A woman whose terrible-but-dying mother leaves everything in her will to her previously unknown twin takes drastic action. A funeral director whose building is being used as a film set finds an opportunity to deal with his wife who says she’s leaving him. When mob boss Beatrix Hasp kidnaps Charlie, she wants her to identify a mole on her team. A police officer becomes obsessed with winning “cop of the year” but it keeps being won by a person she considers beneath her.

There are a couple of outrageously silly moments, but since the rest is extraordinary I’ll overlook that.

Cynthia Erivo does a fine job of playing 5 characters in the 1st episode.

Guest stars include Giancarlo Esposito, Rhea Perlman, Richard Kind, Gaby Hoffmann, Melanie Lynskey, John Cho, and Alia Shawkat.

I previously reviewed season 1.
