Star Trek: Prodigy (season 2)
{4.5/5} “This guy is one nebula short of a galaxy.”
Star Trek: Prodigy season 2, aired in 2024
Dal, Rok-Tahk, Jankom Pog, Zero, and Murf are asked to join Admiral Janeway on the Voyager-A. The mission is to investigate the new wormhole that was created with the destruction of the Protostar, and try to reach Captain Chakotay who’s on the other side. They’re each working in different areas of the ship, and Zero is assisting The Doctor in sickbay. Meanwhile, Gwyn is trying to convince her people not to start a civil war that hasn’t happened yet.
This is the last season.
In order to get the main characters to be heroes, in the first bunch of episodes they’re always sneaking around behind Janeway’s back. It’s not the most satisfying storyline, and it comes at the expense of Janeway’s character. They were a bit more careless with details this season — hence my lower rating.
It’s a great story in general, though — the later episodes are mostly superb. The ending is beautiful, and ties in extraordinarily well with Picard.
Robert Picardo, Wil Wheaton, Ronny Cox, and Gates McFadden all reprise their roles from other shows.
Stars the voices of Rylee Alazraqui, Dee Bradley Baker, Angus Imrie, and Jason Mantzoukas.
I previously reviewed season 1.
