The Life of Chuck
{4.5/5} “‘I used to love skating.’ ‘Then you should go skating.'”
The Life of Chuck, released in 2024
Most of California has fallen into the ocean, there are fires in various places, and a sinkhole has opened up downtown. Felicia, a nurse, connects with her ex-husband Marty, a teacher. Marty’s friend Gus thinks this is the end of everything. When the phones stop working, Marty heads out on foot. He keeps seeing ads congratulating someone named Chuck who worked somewhere for 39 years.
The scene where Chuck starts dancing is delightful.
It’s about the joy of math, the joy of dancing, and what happens when people think it’s the end of the world.
I liked every part of this movie except when it ended I was startled — I expected it to go back and answer some questions from the 1st part.
