Murdoch Mysteries (season 18)

{4.5/5} “I am an asset to the coroner’s office, a valuable one. But I’m more valuable here… I’m saying that if I have to choose, then I choose this place and these people. My people.” — Violet Hart

Murdoch Mysteries season 18, aired in 2024-25

Murdoch decides he wants to remain a detective, so Brackenreid introduces Albert Choi as the new inspector for station house #4. When Murdoch and Crabtree are reenacting the War of 1812 one of the reenactors is stabbed. Murdoch is bored at his house all alone so he moves into a rooming house, where a young woman immediately tells him someone has been murdered. When Murdoch visits Julia and Susanna in London there’s an explosion that seems related to suffragette efforts.

It’s still a fine show but it seems like there are more little mistakes and more silliness than in the past, and I’ve reduced my rating.

I like how Choi devotes an entire room to Murdoch’s inventions.

The season finale comes to a startling conclusion.

Guest stars include Rebecca Liddiard, Ted Atherton, Donal Logue, and Zoie Palmer. Arwen Humphreys plays Margaret Brackenreid.

Stars Paul Sun-Hyung Lee and Kataem O’Connor.

I previously reviewed season 17.
