Single Parents (season 1)

{4.5/5} “Emma and I are Shawshanking our way to the neighbours’.” — Amy, who is 7 years old

Single Parents season 1, aired in 2018-19

A group of single parents whose kids go to school together help each other out with babysitting. When new guy Will appears, the others decide to help him become slightly less focused on his daughter. Douglas agrees to host a sleepover, but he really just wants to sit in his sauna alone. When Emma and Amy’s guinea pig dies, they don’t seem too affected by it — Poppy encourages Douglas to let them feel more.

This show is very funny. Both the adult and child characters are interesting.

Twins Mia and Ella Allen, who appeared in Jane the Virgin, are hilarious.

Stars Brad Garrett, Leighton Meester, and Taran Killam.

Created by Elizabeth Meriwether (New Girl) and J.J. Philbin (writer on Only Murders in the Building).
