Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi
{4.5/5} “‘We shall double our efforts.’ ‘I hope so, Commander, for your sake. The Emperor is not as forgiving as I am.” — Moff Jerjerrod & Darth Vader
Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi, released in 1983
The Empire is building another Death Star. Meanwhile, on Tatooine C3-PO and R2-D2 become servants of Jabba the Hutt as part of Luke’s plan. Lando is already there posing as a guard. When a bounty hunter arrives seeking the bounty on Chewbacca, Jabba takes a liking to him — but under the suit it’s really a her. At night when everyone’s asleep she unfreezes Han from the carbonite.
This is the sequel to Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back.
Jabba the Hutt and Emperor Palpatine are iconic characters because of their stunning appearances in this movie.
There are a few inconsistencies and things that are silly, but if you’ve accepted the premise and made it this far you’ll find this one enjoyable.
Stars Anthony Daniels, Kenny Baker, Billy Dee Williams, Ian McDiarmid, and Warwick Davis. Directed by Richard Marquand (Eye of the Needle). John Williams’ themes for Leia and Yoda are beautiful.
This is the 3rd or 4th time I’ve seen it.
I previously reviewed Solo in this series.
